Full scale production mine sites require high capacity, heavy duty mining vibrating screens. The product is generally uniform in size, moisture and texture so vibrating screen design is more focused on strength and the ability to process large capacities.

Poly panels are the standard screening media in the mining industry. This is due to their low friction coefficient, high abrasion resistance and ease of replacement. Cross tension poly meshes are used in larger aperture applications. Woven wire is used as a lower cost alternative where the material is either very dry or a spray system is used.

Vibrating screens that operate in the mining industry are mostly direct drive in design. This is due to the simplicity and reliability of the design where down time on a mine site is worth many times more than the equipment itself.

Liner types are either a hard wearing steel like Bisalloy or a slippery polyurethane depending on moisture, abrasion and particle size.

Steel coil springs are the most common types of vibration isolation as they are by far the most reliable.

Stainless steel vibrating screens are used on mine sites where there is a wet screening process or the material is wet to begin with. Mild steel is the primary build material for larger equipment.
