Application
A test material storage a feeding system was needed by FMG’s research and development team. The hopper had to fit a certain capacity of iron ore and the feeder needed to reflect the movement style of larger ‘on-site’ feeders.
Solution
Vibroflow designed and manufactured the hopper and frame as per the specifications outlined by FMG. The feeder used a concentrated sub resonant design to mimic a full sized sub resonant feeder. This also provided the researches the ability to control the feed rate extremely precisely.
Bisalloy 360 liners were installed on the trough bottom and sides as iron ore is abrasive. These were bolted on with countersunk bolts to not impede material flow.
On the discharge end of the feeder is a much steeper slope than through the body. This slope accelerates material as it is discharged which results in a thinner spread and smoother transition to a faster belt conveyor.
