Application
A feeder was required underneath a 15 – 20m3 bin at a iron ore processing plant. The product was a fine crushed magnetite ore. This was part of a re-feed bin for rejected particles. Bulk density was around 2.3t/m3 with moisture at around 3%.
Material needed to be conveyed over a length of 3m with a 1m width. Bisalloy liners were required to protect the trough surface.
A fine feed rate control was requested as the material depth needed to be thin for the magnetic separator up-steam.
As the plant was powered by a diesel generator, power consumption was an important factor.
Solution
Due for the requirement for fine feed rate control and the large capacity requirements, a sub resonant unit was the only option. The requirement for low power consumption was also satisfied by the lower power requirements on sub resonant units.
20mm Bisalloy liners were installed on the bottom to protect the trough from wear. 12mm side liners added a second level of protection.
The unit supplied was a simple and rugged vibratory feeder that could deal easily with the capacity required and any additional abuse that hard wearing iron ore provides.
