Application
As part of a refining system, a belt conveyor would elevate product so that it is gravity processed. The belt conveyor needed a safe and reliable system that would gradually provide product to transport. The client was using front end loaders to take material from a storage pile and introduce into the refining system.
The product was bio waste and as a result was very prone to sticking and blocking.
Fine feed rate control was required so as to not overload or under load the belt conveyor.
Solution
The solution was a heavy duty sub resonant vibratory feeder. This unit has a very wide, open trough which was an easy target to hit with a front end loader.
As the product is prone to blocking and sticking, very slippery polyurethane liners were installed.
The product was so difficult to feed that the unit had to be cranked up to a 13mm stroke to prevent the material from bridging between the belt and feeder. This is one of the main reasons the sub resonant drive system was used.
