Application
Screened glass waste material needed to be fed back into a gravity assisted processing system. This meant that all product needed to be lifted 4.5m high. The client didn’t have the horizontal space for a belt conveyor and due to the abrasiveness of glass waste, a screw conveyor was undesirable.
Dust supression was also an issue that the client wanted to solve with the lifting equipment.
Solution
The vibratory spiral elevator that was offered for this application had a lift of 4.5m and diameter of 674mm. Motors were installed underneath the unit in this application for the ease of maintenance. Oscillating mounts were used as isolators instead of steel coil springs to decrease vibration transmitted to the floor.
In order to fight the dust issues, the inlet plate and discharge chute were all sealed shut. The remaining flights were enclosed with a fabric sheet that would allow air movement but not dust to escape.
