Application
A cyanide storage bin was having problems with rat holing material that refused to be discharged. The original withdrawal method was via screw conveyor. Vibroflow was asked to investigate a replacement for the current system.
Solution
The new system consists of a bin activator which is shown here and a 12m long vibratory conveyor.
The bin activator has a diameter of almost 3m and is retrofitted to the bottom of the existing storage system. It is wired up to a PLC system that sporadically vibrates the bin to loosen any material that can potentially cause problems. The programming pulses the conveyor at the same time so that any material in the bin is not simply compacted but withdrawn.
